THEN IN POSSIBLY THE MOST OBNOXIOUS AND ANGERING THING THAT HAPPENED IN THE WHOLE BOOK FRICKEN CATHERINE DE BOURGH COMES AND TRIES TO TELL LIZZY NOT TO MARRY DARCY AND I HONESTLY WISHED THIS WAS REAL SO I COULD SMACK THE LIGHT OUT OF THAT WOMAN. SHE WAS INCESSANTLY CONDESCENDING TO LIZZY SAYING THAT SHE WAS NOT THE ONE MEANT FOR DARCY AND HOW MISS DE BOURGH SHOULD MARRY AND I ALMOST CUT A B$*!%. SHE HAD THE AUDACITY TO SAY "While in their cradles ... destined for his cousin" (Austen 336). FIRST OFF, LADY, SHE IS HIS COUSIN AND THAT IS I-C-K-Y!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SECOND, I HAVE WAITED ALMOST 400 PAGES FOR THAT RELATIONSHIP AND ANYTHING THAT MESSES THAT UP IS GOING TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH ME! SO BACK THE HECK UP OR I WILL THROW A FIT. However, the way that Lizzy reacts is awesome! She doesn't let Catherine de Bourgh get to her and it absolutely angers her way more than if Lizzy had gotten angry and worked up. This conversation also allows Lizzy's subconcious love for Darcy to become a conscious act as she defends her love, and want to marry him with blinking an eye. WHICH MAKES ME SO HAPPY GAH.
And then, Mr. Bennet graces the wedding after he is told by Mr. Collins that Darcy plans to marry Lizzy. In a very loving and affectionate scene, Lizzy and Mr. Bennet talk about Darcy and if she really wants to marry him. My favorite part about LIzzy telling everyone that she and Darcy are going to get together is that when she tells everyone, all they have to say is how much she hated him before and if she actually likes him. I find it so funny because everyone is like what is happening all you talked about for like 4 years is how much you hated Mr. Darcy and now you re trying to tell me that you hate him?????? Like what. But then, in the final acknowledgement that Lizzy is actually finally going to marry Darcy and not just spend more time having some sexual tension Mr. Bennet seals the deal with , "I did not know before now, that I had two daughters on the brink of matrimony" (Austen 342). This makes me so happy because now that Mr. Bennet knows about this whole situation means that it is finally actually really going to happen (TEARSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS). I'm actually crying I'm so excited that this is actually happening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SO IN LOVE UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH\
"As a child I was taught ... worthy of being pleased" (Austen 349), which left me in tears. In this section, Darcy basically explains to Lizzy and the world why he was such an a$$hole the whole time, because he was taught to have manners, but not taught how to be selfless and normal when he was in front of other people. He also professes that through this for some reason Lizzy still loves him and somehow his a$$holeness brought them closer together. Even though its kind of a weird section it is adorable and makes me happy because these professions of love are what I have been waiting for for about 300 pages and it is FINALLY happening:)
I love when Lizzy pours her heart out to Jane about Darcy, because Jane is so thrown off by the fact that Darcy and Lizzy are an item. Similarly to Mr. Bennet, Jane is at first very skeptical of their relationship because just as Mr. Bennet said, months before all Lizzy had done was complain of Darcy and his pretentious nature towards everyone except Bingley. After these comments Lizzy says in hindsight, "Her father had most ... fancied too much" (Austen 344). In reflection on her relationship she wishes that she instead may have spoken less of Darcy. It makes me laugh that in a situation where Lizzy is older than Jane, Jane condescends to Lizzy to make sure she is truly happy. She treats in almost a childish way to make sure that she is truly happy and not simply marrying out of spite for herself and her sisters.
THEN FINALLY DARCY GOES INTO THE LIBRARY WITH MR. BENNET TO ASK HIM FOR LIZZY'S HAND IN MARRIAGE AND I WAS SO EXCITED THAT I WANTED TO DIE. I CRIED AGAIN. HE SAYS YES AND YASSSSSS. Now all Lizzy has to face is the rath of crazy Mrs. Bennet, who, on the day Darcy came to ask for Lizzy's hand, she was sassing him in front of Lizzy and talking of how disagreeable he was and it made me want to cut her ( yet again ). Luckily, Mrs. Bennet is totally fine with it because, "ten thousand a year!" (Austen 358). So just as long and she's going to get tons of money a year Lizzy could marry any old chump and Mrs. Bennet would be fine. Because she's a cinical little crap and makes me want to hurt her. But she said yes and that's all that matters because she is not worth stressing about.
The last few are all love and rainbows and cupcakes and it felt like the end of an Air Bud movie. Everyone was shortly discussed of their now happy lives (except Lydia and Wickam who suck ha).
- Bingley and Jane bought an estate near Derbyshire, 30 miles from Jane
- Kitty just spends all of her time with Jane and Lizzy, and pulls her crap together to become a good person
- Mary stayed at home and basically took care of her mom because she's lonely
- Wickam and Lydia have no money and move from place to place trying to find the cheapest option because they are poor and suck (GAGAHAGASGAGVABAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHSHHAHSH GOOD)
- Lizzy, Darcy and Georgiana reside at Pemberly and live happily ever after and I once again cried yay😭😭😭😭😭😭
